citiesrefugees_visual_id_3The impact of the refugee crisis will be felt in communities. People often complain about politicians ‘living in a bubble’, unaware of life in the real world. We want to reach beyond the world of politics, encouraging debates at the local level between communities and refugees.

Our ‘Cities & Refugees’ project will foster a Europe-wide dialogue between citizens, refugees and asylum seekers, NGOs, politicians, and European leaders. The emphasis will be on connecting local, everyday life at the city level to decisions made in Brussels and national capitals. We will look at how the migrant crisis is affecting ordinary citizens, and how different European cities share common challenges. What stories can local mayors, citizens and migrants tell of their experiences? And what are the success stories?

Join the debates!
