The Debating Europe team is really enjoying experimenting with all the online tools that are out there to try and bring politicians, academics and experts together with citizens in the same conversation. There’s been a brilliant response to our efforts on social media (with over 13’000 followers on Facebook!), but we’ve barely scratched the surface with the things these new technologies will let us do.

For example, we’re about to launch some interesting new initiatives with online video and audio. We’ve carried out over 100 interviews with policy-makers and experts for Debating Europe, and it might be interesting to post some of those interviews online for people to watch or listen to. This can work both ways, of course! We’d really love to receive YOUR videos and put them up on Debating Europe as questions to be answered.

If you want to appear on our website asking a question or suggesting an idea, we’d love to take it to Europe’s leaders for their reaction. Do you have a comment about the Eurozone crisis? Do you know a way to fix Europe’s energy worries? Let us know your thoughts by video, and we’ll ask policy-makers and experts to respond.

All we ask is:

  • Keep your videos to under 30 seconds and your comment short and to the point.
  • Try to record your video in a quiet place with good lighting and speak clearly into the microphone.
  • You can ask tough questions, but please keep it respectful.

How to get it to us:

The easiest way for us to use your video is if you upload it to a video hosting site such as Vimeo, YouTube or DailyMotion and then send us the link by email, Twitter, Facebook or in the comments below a post.

Taking a video of yourself is easier than you think!

Not sure how to take a video of yourself? This is what you need:

  • A computer and internet connection
  • A camera / webcam

If you want to get fancy, then there are several examples of free video editing software out there for both PC and Mac users. For basic video editing, you can use Windows Live Movie Maker for PC or Apple iMovie for Mac.

Check out these guides (for Movie Maker and iMovie) in case you’re unsure of how to do it.

We’ll contact you when we’ve uploaded a response to our Vimeo channel!

  4. The Euro crisis is coming from the changes of the former currency, i think the best way, is to organize and restore back the old currency in each nation.
